We are knee deep in snow here on the Western Slope of the Rockies and loving it! It has been a spectacular winter with lots of sunshine and blue skies. Our animals are enjoying basking in the warm sun of the day and snuggling in the barn during the cold evenings.
We have had a large number of male offspring the past two years and as a result of that, we have 5 full accoyo males available for purchase. In my opinion, a herdsire quality male is more valuable than many of the females out there, so I'm never disappointed when one of these boys are born on our ranch. If you are looking for a future accoyo herdsire, we have Baron LaFitte, Accoyo Miguel and King Accoyo Solomon lines available out of some amazing Accoyo Dams!
Dr. Cotton will be showing at the GWAS 2009 show in May and at the AOBA Nationals in June. Come and see the selection of accoyo suris that she will have available at the shows! She is also consigning two lovely Suri females to the Private Collection Auction on September 19, 2009 at Alpaca Jack's Suri Farm in Findlay, Ohio.
Dr. Toni Cotton has enjoyed her new practice in Ridgway, The Camelid Reproduction Center of the Western Slope. She has enjoyed making rounds to the alpaca breeders in Durango, Ignacio and Cortez as the drive over the mountain ranges is always beautiful. She has also received referals from CSU and has developed a working relationship with CSU Veterinary Hospital.
Knowledge is power but when it comes to alpacas knowledge is the difference between life and death.
Dr. Toni Cotton, DVM is on of the country's leading experts on camelid reproduction and neonatal care. She has given lectures and seminars across the country and continues to teach veterinarians and owners about alpaca and llama health and reproduction. She spoke at the North American Veterinary Conference in January 2008 and is speaking at the American Veterinary Medical Association's Annual meeting in July 2009. She is also teaching several birthing classes this year, MOPACA on March 27, 2009, AOBA on June 3, 2009 and The Suri Network on August 13, 2009.
Register today for one of her neonatal clinics (call or e-mail for dates) or consider her for your alpaca continuing educations. She is also available for consultations and second opinions via e-mail for just $25-$50 depending on depth of the situation. Consider a day of Dr. Toni's services. You and your veterinarian will learn more than you thought possible in such a short time.
